Career Days est le forum de l’emploi organisé par l’AIESEC dans plusieurs universités suisses. Il aura lieu du 18 au 23 mars 2010 à l’université de Lausanne. Les présentations des entreprises elles-mêmes auront lieu les 18, 19, 22 et 23 mars, quant aux stands ils se tiendront le 23 mars toute la journée.

Afin que vous puissiez profiter pleinement de cette manifestation, la Team Career Days de Lausanne, c’est-à-dire Laure, Jérômine, Sara, Mariannick, Véronica, Mirlinda, Candice et Roland, s’active depuis le mois d’octobre.

Cette nouvelle édition sera marquée par de grands changements, tels que l’organisation de petits workshops ludiques et utiles pour un entretien d’embauche. Ces derniers seront animés par notamment, Success & Career pour la correction de votre Curriculum Vitae, Globus pour l’habillement, et Crédit Suisse quant à eux vous réservent une petite surprise. Tout ceci afin de récolter un maximum de conseils et d’interagir avec les responsables des Ressources Humaines.

Plusieurs événements en rapport avec les Career Days seront proposés en décembre ainsi qu’en mars afin de vous préparer à cet événement unique.

EuroCo 09

As you may know, the Swiss LCP crew has participated in EuroCo 09, the European Presidents’ International conference taking place in Lisbon. More than 200 delegates from 37 countries were taking part in this. A beautiful venue next to the sea, sun, beaches, wine, good company, great conversations, and amazing sessions made this conference a life changing experience for all of us, NO joke. Imagine being in the middle of a plenary full of great and talented individuals sharing the same interests, and every one ready to get the most out of YOU as a delegate and ready to change the world. Not challenged enough?? If you think not, try surviving one Global Village party with 40 tables, I dare you, finish ONE round...

Being in this amazing environment for a few days has brought us together as LCPs. We realised the importance of building ONE AIESEC in Switzerland. New ideas, huge energy, great experiences and a brand new network are some of the outputs, but the most important is how we will implement them, cause the magic will happen inside our LCs. We’re ready to CHANGE your life, we have gained new tools and ideas, and most important, we’ve got THE SPIRIT.

It is only after EuroCo09, that most of us have seen the INTERNATIONAL SCOPE of AIESEC. Getting to know your pairs, people in your same situation but from Canada, Burglary, Rumania, UK, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Check Republic, Denmark.... is only then, after watching someone from the other corner of the world, one guy struggling with the same issues that you are now, only then you realise that you are NOT ALONE. Students like you, having the same issues, same interests, sharing this with us for 6 days... I have no words to describe it. You just have to try it by yourselves.

So guys, for the ones that are thinking in participating in an international conference, don’t think twice. You are the ones that will create your AIESEC experience, your own AIESEC way, your WAY. Go BIG, you will not regret it, I bet my kidney to that.

LCM: X-training

Last Thursday we had a second training (after the Induction)... the X-Training!! How does AIESEC send interns abroad?? How does AIESEC receives interns from abroad?? How does myaiesec.net work?? Those were some of the questions answered last Thursday.

After the first part where whole LC was present, the X-team rested to have a more in-deep look to myaiesec.net.

Remembering Kick-Off: OC work

(Finally) Last post from Kick-off!! Teamee track, leader track, newie track and mascot exchange wouldn't be possible without the work of some people who stay awake after the parties and clean the party room so it's ready for the session next morning and... no no no.... it's not me who's going to talk about it, but Monika Malo!!

OC Work done by extended OC starting Wednesday upon arrival at Fiesch at 18h. This list is in no way in chronological order. My brain is not functioning well enough in order to actually remember what happened first and last.

• Finish welcome bags: stuff around 150 bags with a variety of goods. Clean up storage room afterwards. Sort cardboard and garbage.
• Prepare badges. Sort badges by LC.
• Stock buildings with water, snacks, fruit (sometimes done with the help of a van, but not always). Distribute PET bags and garbage bags at refreshment stations.
• Prepare party room: once the delivery truck was unloaded, move literally tons of drinks in to the party room via the window in an assembly line. Build couches and tables (donation from IKEA), and build the bar.
• Make room assignments (done by St. Gallen).
• Coordinate with the Chair when program schedule changes; move breaks or room changes. Necessitate different tech in different rooms. Distribution of beamers, TV, speakers.
• Write up LC time schedule.
• Set up check-in, group LCs according to size so that no one person doing check-in ends up with too many arrivals at one time; conduct check-in for arrivals and sell coupons in same location.
• Set-up chairs for opening plenary; take down chairs afterward and set up tables for Global Village.
• Take down Global Village tables, sweep floor, collect garbage. Set up chairs for following morning (plenary).
• Print out and laminate signs (room numbers with arrows, etc.)
• Prepare party room for the party: decorations, ice, prepare bar and stock the refrigerators. Empty out glass, PET, garbage containers from previous night’s party.
• Party: workers behind bar. 2 shifts (early and late). Sell coupons. Clean up puke, broken glass, drink spills. Clean up.
• Prepare coffee breaks. Serve coffee and check that there is enough fruit and cookies. Clean-up coffee breaks. Wipe down area and make sure no garbage left.
• Wake-up call 7h15. Do the 3 buildings.
• Check-in late arrivals in the OC office. Tell them where they need to go.
• Correct mistakes on badges (only major mistakes)
• Answer to the needs of the facis: “I need tape.” “ Can I print this?” “I need to make 4 times 12 copies of this.”
• Friday: greet and accompany arriving externals. Guide them to the appropriate room. Answer any questions that they have; supply cables, tape, anything else that they request.
• Lost and found.
• Early check-out in the OC office.
• Write (by hand) 300+ sugar cubes (thank you Toufic and Mano)
• Empty PET bags and take behind kitchen.
• Sunday clean up. Empty all buildings, snack stations (after morning session). Collect, empty, recycle hundreds of PET bottles (merci les cochons!)
• Empty out the storage room (leftover in kind raising: Mentos, condoms, cookies, Bionade, smoothies, etc.) and put at the bottom of the stairs for delegates to take home.

Remembering Kick-Off: Day 4

This is my version of the fourth day of the kick-off as a Teamie, yeah I upgraded meanwhile, now I know at least two dances.

Let’s start from the beginning of the day. As usual, after every 3 hours nights, I was on top of form .Things were slightly different for my companions, 2 alarm clocks and the yelling Facis didn’t wake them up (let’s call it the side effect of the Kick-Off).

It’s fair to say that at 8 o’clock, the restaurant was far from being full. But there was no way we were going to eat in an absolute silent. After all real Kick-Off meal won’t be complete without someone yelling “this is table number one, where is table number two”; needless to say that it did not go over the first table: considering the number of half-asleep AIESECers in there, it was an improbable effort. So just consider it was certainly the quietest breakfast of the conference.

Rooms started to get empty by 9 o’clock, not because everyone was sober and fresh as a daisy, but because a member of the OC said that the room had to be empty by 9 o’clock. In fact it was a bit more complicated since I have heard that somebody was still in bed at 11.Anyway everybody was ready for the release of the hostages ceremony also called the fourth morning plenary. As you should know by now, our mascot, Baby Bond has been shamefully trapped by 5 girls from Basel (who would have distrust?).The thing is that both presidents decided that Lausanne had to do the roll call of Basel to handle him back. Indeed, it’s getting really difficult to find a fairly good VPF nowadays, so we could not let him down (for more details about the kidnapping and the negotiations, please see what happened on day 3). So there we go for yelling the “I feel good, we’re all good” with our deepest voices, but as revenge we planned to do this in another way : just try to say it like you’ve been drunk three nights in a row and have slept only for 5 hours and you’ll barely have an idea of our performance. Anyway, the mascot was given back. Now it was time for St-Galles to sing out the famous “Lausanne ou la la” in return for their leader-sheep (the second day was quiet interesting too).The second part of their punishment consisted in watching the pictures of their mascot having fun with the LC; I think we will all miss this sheep in a certain way.

After the chair’s speech and the explanation of the timetable printed on our badges (yes it also formed part of the funny things of the conference), we went to the last workshops.

I attend the “Selling at a company meeting” lectured by Barry. I have to say that it was very short, about forty minutes, but somehow, we learned some useful tips .Waiting on the next workshop, I and other newies improvised a rugby match on the top of the stairs. With a French , an Italian and another European on the “field”, the best player was, obviously, the half-Egyptian half-Pakistani boy of 1M60. I guess it’s one of the interesting things to see the EB told us about .After an easy victory, cause I was very lucky in the choice of my team, I went to my second workshop which was about the tasks of a project manager. I learned a lot about the way a project works and may look like. Moreover, our Faci who won two awards the night before (yes I am also lucky in choosing my Faci) motivated us.

The lunch was… well, say it was a real kick-off meal this time, though it was good. After that we went back to the rooms in order to clean them up.

After sweeping and recycling, we went to the last meeting with our respective home groups to say goodbye. We talked about the weaknesses and advantages of the conference and other funny things, and of course we did our roll call on the stage. It is about a sausage and some mayonnaise (members of LC Stampot know what I am talking about).

Then came the closing plenary. As you certainly know now, a plenary can’t be fulfilled without a little “Lausanne est là”. Even if I am sure no one in Fiesch could miss that fact, I have to confess that it is pretty catchy and useful when one is half awake. The roll call followed, it wasn’t that cool without the whole committee gathered, but was still the best .By the way , how come there was no best delegation award this time when ,with no doubt, we were the greatest; Istill don’t get it. Anyway, As far as I remember, the chair, Mohcine, encouraged AIESEC Switzerland to improve before saying goodbye, we applauded. The MCP, Ivo, almost said the same, so we applauded. And finally, the Facis and the OC went on stage with our next MCP, whom name I don’t recall, to close the conference, and we applauded.

So we took our stuffs, said “goodbye” or “I’ll see you guys on face book”, took some phone numbers, e-mail addresses and some things to eat in the train, and we were on our way to Lausanne; I forgot: we did the tunak tunak tun dance on the track. I think that was the last “crazy moment” of the conference because the return trip was definitely not as “amusing” as the first time, indeed we were as quiet as the members of Geneva.

To conclude, I would say that , that conference was an interesting experience, though I am sure it is about to get better and louder since in few months , it’s our turn to organize it.

Remembering Kick-Off: XPS

Only 3 more stories, I promise we won't talk about Kick-off the rest of the year... To tell you about the XPS, directly from Portugal: Filipa Verdasca!!

On Saturday the XPS started!! For those who are still juggling with all the AIESEC slang, XPS means Exchange Preparation Seminar.

All the EPs (Exchange Participants) were welcomed together and divided into their home groups for some simulations and discussions about multi-cultural experiences. During the simulations we were faced with possible situations that we would come across when in a foreign country. The goal of these sessions was to prepare us for the cultural shock and to advise us on how to deal with upcoming problems.

During Saturday’s afternoon, we had some information and preparation sessions for the exchange program. We were informed about the exchange procedure and administration requirements. We were also introduced to the exchange database in myaiesec.net.

Sunday morning, we were once again divided into our home groups for another information session to clear up the remaining doubts and some more cultural simulations.
After lunch we joined our home groups for the last time to sum up all we had learned during the XPS sessions and to say goodbye to each other.

Remembering Kick-Off: Day 3

An LCLA Newie's 3rd day at Kick-Off 2008 :

5:15 AM: Me and a dozen of people are still partying in the dorms building! A roll call is made up within 2 minutes with Mohcine for the some crazy and exceptional people still awake!!

8:30 AM: Very hard time to get up after the awesome party of last night. Big hangover, I still have a lot of alcohol in my blood, or should I say "some blood in the alcohol"? hehe

9:00 AM: Breakfast

9:30 AM: Morning plenary! Mohcine and the 5:00 AM people are showing our Roll Call! LCLA is showing the pictures of the kidnapped mascot of LC St-Gallen: the Leader-Sheep!! PUNISHMENT Time for them, to get the Leader-Sheep back, they have to shout "Lausanne est là, Lausanne ouh la la!!" They are ashamed and we feel proud, one more time.... LCLA ROCKS!!

10:00 AM to 4:30 PM: Simulations! All the newies without XPS, around 45 people, are separated in 3 groups to create they're own LC!! We first have to elect our EB! For each position (LCP, VPX, VPER, VPTM, VPF and PM), candidates are asked to present themselves! Horracio gets elected PM, project manager of a PBoX, and I get the position of President of this fake LC: LC Stampot from the Netherlands!!!!
Within 5 minutes, we create the most amazing Roll Call ever seen in the AIESEC History "the STAMPOT dance"! No, I'm kidding but I just think we were awesome, hehe! Oh by the way, for those who didn't understand, a stampot is a typical dutch meal made with potatoes, vegetables, sausage and mayonnaise.
The rest of the time is to simulate the normal activities of an LC along the year: meeting with companies to get internships, organizing a PBoX, interviewing people wanting to go on exchange, matching the interns with the companies and welcoming the interns coming from abroad. My VPs were all very very good at their job and very motivated, as Horacio! Thank you so much guys for the good time we had!
And of course, I learnt so much from this experience in such a short time!

6:30 PM: LC Time! Very emoting time.... the EB thanks us for our motivation, they say they are proud of us! It makes me feeling very well and even more motivated for the last party tonight!

(that's true, we look kinda alike....) anyway, I don't refuse it! It's going good until the real chair arrives at the party :-((

Remembering Kick-Off: The leader track - TM

The shorter, the better...

During kick off ’08, the Vice Presidents « Talent Management » (= human resources managers) of all Switzerland (VPTM from LC Bern, Zurich, Geneva, Fribourg, Basel… and Lausanne of course) had the opportunity to meet and share their experience.

On Saturday and Sunday, we got theoretical education from Sara and Anna, the national managers for Talent Management (MCVPTM, if you’re ok with all these aiesec abbreviations). We listened carefully, in order to acquire the right tools to manage our LC… so in order to take care of all of you, dear members of LC Lausanne ;-). But we also had a lot of fun, discussing all these issues under the sun (I even got sunburned!).

As a start, we summarized all that we’ve done in our LC up to now : recruitment in March ’08 (huuuuge task for all of the VPsTM !!), allocation of newies in teams (not easy to please everbody’s desires…), induction (do you remember the quizz?;), preparation for kick off, and so on.

Some of us came to the conclusion that as VPsTM, we sometimes feel like being the « mother » of the LC little family… So I guess the President of the LC must be the father ! What’s your opinion Mister LCP Sergio? Or I should maybe rather say the « Godfather of the bolivian mafia », instead of just father ;-)

Remembering Kick-Off: The teamee track

Was it all partying and mascot exchange negotiation? Well, to tell the truth we did lots of work: leaders, teamees, newies, OC, Facis we had long journeys of discussions, workshops and sessions... and to show a little bit of this work Tom Heisterbach is going to tell us about the teamee track :-)

Jessica and Kristina already showed that we had a lot of fun and we really took us not too serious ☺ We were partying hard but we worked harder or at least equally. I will give you here an impression what we did in the Teamee track during the conference.

Between the opening plenary on Thursday afternoon and the Global Village we had our first Teamee session, called “The Milky Way”. After a quick get to know we were divided in 12 groups consisting of 2 people per group. The game was called the milky way and the groups represented the different parts the milk has to pass to arrive at the costumer. So we had a group “cow” and a lot of stations between the cow and the end costumers like farmer, factories and supermarkets.

The aim was to bring the milk to the costumers but also to make money and sell a certain quantity (we had paper money and lists with the quantity of products we own), so we had to buy and sell our stuff. 5 minutes represented one day and we simulated 1 week.

At the end of the week we were quiet “frustrated”, some guys had no money left, some had not reached to sell or buy the quantity they should because prices changed very fast and others were bankrupt. It was very funny to deal but as I mentioned before also frustrating. The overall aim, to bring a certain quantity of milk to the end consumers was not reached.

This showed us, involving our emotions and feeling to be a part of the situation, that it is really necessary to work together to reach a common goal, to be a unit for satisfying everyone in the system and also to reach a high quality concerning the output.

AIESEC is such a system, an organization, and we are selling our products. We have to work together to reach a high quality and to be competitive in the market. In the first session we became aware of this problem AIESEC Switzerland faces.

On Friday we did not meet in our group because the Teamee track and the Leader track were working together in a workshop also concerning the quality question of AIESEC (s.o. will write a summary on that session). Afterwards we were in the external workshops and AISEC dialogues, so we met on Saturday again.

Saturday consisted of 4 parts for the Teamees.

In the first session, now aware of the problems AIESEC Switzerland is confronted with, we discussed under the topic “one step further” how to improve the quality of our LCs, what to change and what to do to increase exchanges. My opinion is that it is necessary to offer a “package of workshops” (rhetorical training, presentation etc.) to the Newies after joining so that they get some skills to represent AIESEC as a qualitatively high organization with good products (us). This is more a long-term attempt to change the formation structure than the short-term attempt to work on some issues concerning the actual quality. I spread this idea quiet well in a lot of personal talks as well as in the discussion groups I participated. A result was for example a topic concerning this in the AIESEC dialogues.

The second part was called “take your pick” and the Teamees had the chance to discuss and to ask questions to experts about different leadership positions like VP, LCP, MC, OCP, Trainer. Afterwards the Facis explained us the different development possibilities, conferences like LDS (Leadership development seminar), TTT (Train the trainer) on national and international level. I can’t remember all the topics but if you want to know s.th. to a special topic I would be happy to explain it to you ☺ For me personally this session wasn’t very interesting because I did already knew most of the things but I think in general it was quiet useful for the Teamees.

The third session was called “Intern interaction” and interns offered us the possibility to talk to them personally about different topics concerning their country. I missed this part because I got to know a really interesting person from Netherlands. We did some small talk and then lost our self in a real intelligent conversation, maybe the best I had in the last year. Quiet amazing, AIESEC brings people together. ☺

Lost in the conversation we did not see the others around us leaving, so I had to find them, already on their way to a grassland for the fourth part of the day. I found one of my Facis and joined his group. The session was called “the bottom line” and we were ask to write down some answers to questions that confronted us with our self, our aims, weaknesses and forced us to search and fix some plans for the future. This was a self-reflecting part. I really liked this because it’s necessary to improve oneself, to learn; it was useful and interesting.

Sunday we met, after the “skill” workshops, to the goodbye session. We sat together in groups and reflected about the conference. What was good, what bad, what did we learn what do we want to do now and in the future. We fixed a contract with one other person in which there were 3 different things fixed that we want to work on or change. We fixed also some concrete dates and the contract partner will send us an email at this date to control our progress and promises. We also recorded with the Facis a video of our self in which we described our self in one year. This video will be send to us in one year, so we can compare who we are and what we wanted to be today one year ago.

In general the conference was very useful for me. The both main parts, discussing the quality problem of AIESEC Switzerland and on the other hand improving skills and doing self reflections were really cool. I learned a lot concerning both topics and I am really happy that I was there.

Beside this what I called the two main streams of “my” conference there was of course more. We LIVED DIVERSITY and got to know a lot of different people and their different ways of thinking; we were proactive and ACTED AS LEADERS, we ENJOIED PARTICIPATION - we liked to be a part of AIESEC; we were STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE in every single situation we were – dancing, discussing or flirting; we DEMONSTRATED INTEGRITY by partying hard but being present in the workshops. We have maybe to improve to ACT SUSTAINABLE but no one is perfect, we’re just people ;)

Remembering Kick-Off: The dreadful story of my abduction by LC Basel

It was another great day at Kick-Off. Just after having a beer during the funkies (we were at a bar), and having a wonderful discussion about finance, it was time to come back to the plenary. Anita and Laura were having a quite suspicious talk in german that I didn’t understand. Why was it suspicious? They were muttering …

The moment we arrived, a few girls from Basel, including Laura came to me, and told me they wanted to take a picture of me. Without questioning any of this (I’m a man after all, and I was quite flattered), I followed them in their room. The first picture was great: I was standing in the middle of the most beautiful creatures of Basel. And I thought: “what a lucky guy !”. But then came the second picture. While I was posing, a few girls went behind my back and grabbed my arms. I didn’t have the time to ask a question. I was already completely unable to move my hands : they were tied. Then the disgrace : they painted on my face the horrible black war paintings and tied the red headband on my forehead!

They then stole my cell phone and contact my LCP. I wanted to be buried alive : I couldn’t stand the disgrace of being traded against a ransom. But I underestimated their cruelty: those girls made me walk in front of everybody, showing their “trophy”. What a shock: the LC Lausanne had to bend knees in front of everyone at Kick-Off 2008. (My revenge will be horrible).After taking pictures of me in this situation (which should have been against the basic human rights of war prisoners), a deal was finally sealed between Ato (LCP Basel responsible for my humiliation) and my LCP (who wouldn’t even stare at me). The deal was that we, LC Lausanne, had to shout in the next morning the famous war shouts: “I feel good, ….”

Remembering Kick-Off: Day 2

For this second day, we have another guest: Kristina Möller!!!

The first thing we heard on Friday, the second day of Kick Off, was the OC’s cowbell to wake us up and of course we joyfully jumped out of our beds to have a shower and eat breakfast ;) Then we went to the morning plenary to get to know what we would be doing for the next few hours. And don’t forget the dances and shouts we did!

In the morning, in the newie track we learnt about Xchange and the possibilities going on an internship, called ‘Power of X’. That was quite interesting, but I have to admit that I don’t remember a lot… Then followed a break which we appreciated a lot (loads of sweets, fruit, water and smoothies *yummie*). Afterwards the Facis presented us some international, mainly European projects of AIESEC to show us how the organization collaborates on a multinational level and told us that we could join them in our LC.

After lunch, we went to the workshops we had signed up for in the morning. I had chosen ‘Emerging Markets’ from Stuart Robinson from the Centre For Cross-Cultural Conflict Conciliation (5C) and ‘Innovation’ from Swisscom.

The first one, ‘Emerging Markets’ was about the reasons why people often don’t understand each other, especially in an economic or a political context. It was a really great workshop, we had a real discussion going on and Mr. Robinson answered to all our questions but also raised topics we hadn’t thought of. For example, how our brain and understanding of other cultures evolves during childhood and how we can try to become aware of the distance between cultures. We also talked about the different characteristics of various countries and their markets and why they developed the way they did, e.g. why India and China have become global players and why most African countries don’t develop as quickly as others. We learnt that most problems/misunderstandings occur because people don’t meet our expectations. People don’t react the same way because they have grown up in another culture with other traditions, that’s why they do things differently.

After the break, I attended the Swisscom workshop, which was also very interesting. At first we were shown a PPT presentation on innovation and then we had to develop in groups a plan for our own innovation (which we invented) to persuade the company to give us money to support our research. The others could criticize the way we presented our new product or they could say what they liked about it.

After dinner we went to the plenary to the AIESEC Dialogues: people could suggest a topic they wanted to discuss. One was about ‘happy clapping’, a subject from another newie about the fact that AIESECers were so enthusiastically about the roll calls and shouts that most newies got the impression it was a bit like a sect. I joined that group and we discussed the way AIESEC was presented in videos that were shown to us and how we were overwhelmed by the dances, the films with emotional music, etc.

During LC Time, we talked about the day and had to do the evaluation of the event. Furthermore, we were reinitialized for the LC simulation we would do the next day.

Then we prepared ourselves for the Hawaii Party and had fun singing Karaoke in the ‘Party Room’. And the party continued until 4 o’clock in the morning…

Remembering Kick-Off: Day 1

What did we do during kick-off? The time has arrived to start telling our stories on-line, but nobody tells the story better than the one who actually lived it, so we're starting a series of posts written by the ones who actually lived this kick-off.

So, for this first post, let me introduce you: Jessica Ulloa (the hot hot hot dancer)!!

For our LC the trip begun at the train station of Lausanne. Already everybody was in a good mood and clearly motivated, specially the newies. We joined the LC Geneva on the train and it was amazing to see the contrast between us! There we danced the famous „tunak tunak“ for about 10 times, we repeated our roll call, we sang and the guys even played football! Sergio (who was already at Fiesch) was informed by someone from the LC Geneva that we were crazy and that we had scared their newies… hehehe! Oh poor newies!!… When we stopped at Brig, we went shopping for some essential stuff : Diego came out from Denner with a big pack of Bier and the others had some bottles of alcohol (if I could only imagine back then the effect that that alcohol would have at Fiesch! Oulala…). Then we took the mountain train and arrived at the camp.

After the check-in we still had time to repeat our roll call one last time. We were so excited and we danced like fools!!! We took some photos and finally prepared ourselves for the opening plenary!!! It was amazing! Every LC had great ideas but to be frank… our roll call was the BEST!!! The mix of different style songs and our costumes was so cool!!! Everyone commented about it!

After that we prepared for the Global Village. I remember that there was a lot of white wine, some gin shots (thanks Ankit !), and a lot of AIESEC’s songs that everybody danced to. I tried to learn them but it was too difficult… After that : the Eurofoot party night !!! It was such a crazy night! Some people were in red and white, others in red-white-blue or Filipa in red and green… But at the end of the party we all had a mix of colors on our faces… People danced all night long and became crazy whenever the famous tunak tunak song was played! At 3h30 am, the LC Lausanne was the last to leave the party (thank you Fabien and Greg!)! Our first day was really amazing!!!

LCM: Kick-Off Preparation!

Last Thursday we had our Preparation for Kick-Off LCM. Everything was so normal… but…. there was someone in the room… checkout the video to find out who it was:

So, as the title indicates, the subjects treated in this LCM were Kick-Off, Kick-Off and Kick-Off. From T-shirt size to Invoice paying, from Track explanation to Party themes, details of this National Conference were unveiled… but the funniest part began when we started to practice our roll call!!!

The actual roll call will be kept secret until the opening plenary on Thursday; only non-revealing pictures are posted.

Induction + LCM

Hello everyone !! Let me introduce to our newies the place where all our activities are published… our blog !! (aieseclausanne.blogspot.com). You can visit it whenever you want but as you can see you will receive the updates directly to your e-mail.

For the newies, don't stress if you feel too much information coming in so little time... you'll actually get everything!!

Last Thursday we had our Induction for new members, which was prepared beforehand by some motivated members. Many thanks to Saralina, Ivan, Pierre, Fang, Cosette! (am I forgetting someone?) You were wonderful!

During the Induction our new members worked really hard and showed enthusiasm and energy... Welcome to LC Lausanne !!

Right after the Induction we had our first LCM with new and old members. We started with a really funny game: « L’œuf volant ». Imaginative and interesting solutions where developed while newies, teamees and leaders started to get to know (and to get along)… we were actually surprised by the results: no egg was broken and we only had 20 minutes!

Hello everyone!!!

Yesterday the new EB celebrated its first LCM... so here's a small recap:

We started with a small presentation of the new EB and the Transit conference. For those who don't know : Transit is a national conference for incoming EBs (so we're ready to work for our LCs), this conference was in Bellinzone this year.

Good opportunity for team building...

Well... we're not just new faces... we have new rules:

Christmas Dinner

On the 20th of December, we had our amazing Christmas Dinner at the restaurant "Les Tramways" in the surroundings of Lausanne!

It was a real pleasure to welcome Abey, Anna, Luca and Jeroen from the MC team but also Vincent and Stefano from the NST Team!! We had a great dinner with a lot of wine (33 bottles...oh god...)

After this great starter, the evening went on at D! Club where the party "Bal de Noël" was going on! No comments for this party...just watch pictures, it is self-explanatory!

Election time is comming...

The 18th of December, AIESEC Lausanne will elect its new Executive Board 07-08 and both Global Village and Do-IT 2008 OCPs. The official begining date for the EB term is the 1st of March. Don't be scared, you will have two full months to learn what the job is all about... That's why elections take place during December!

For the application form, it's quiet long, but it will also help you to understand the challenges, which the LC has... That's why we encourage you to ask questions to the responsible VP (or LCP)... He (she) will not help you to fill in the application, but you'll have a better understanding of the LCs situation. You are also all welcome to ask question to me for all the questions you could have... Please, be aware that this year, the EB will have six positions: LCP, VPPD, VPER, VPF, VPX and VPCD... The OCP Career Days will be a vice president since it is a crucial and strategic job... There are also two OCP available positions: OCP DO-IT and OCP Global Village ...

Hello everyone,

This week has been very busy in terms of AIESEC Activities in Lausanne.

First of all, we started this monday with a selling training at a local level. Colm and Jennifer had prepared most of the training and I have supervised everything as well as helped as facilitator. I reckon they have done a very good job and I want to thank them for their contribution and help.

On wednesday, leaders and EB have met to discuss the PBoXes and the future plans for those. Also, both on wednesday and thursday, a couple of AIESEC folks seize the mandate offered by Conforama and went in the shop to ask questionnaires. Everyone knows it is not the core business, but you will soon see how beautiful the sofa we'll get out of it are! On top of that, we are now discussing a potential partnership with them so we can have brand new furniture for our office;-)

Thursday, the evening has started with the conference on How to get a job interview from Success & Career (for more information, visit: www.success-and-career.ch) and ended with a LCM.
The LCM was very particular for us because it was time to present our positions to the LC and to raise awareness as well as interest from members. The applications will be soon officially open and the application forms released. More information will follow on this blog. During the LCM, we also had an update of the different PBoX. The PBoX on environment has found a name to its project and has been baptized: Global WarNing. DO-IT 2007 : MOVIN' ON UP !!!

What an amazing moment at this Do-It 2007...This was such a amazing conference for so many reasons...

First of all because for half the whole EB, we have been celebrating our first birthday in AIESEC...Its seems weird when you think about it but yes, we were newies at the last Do-It...The year went so fast, experiences were so great, people met was so inspiring...So already before being at Do-It, the emotion was very strong...

Secondly, thanks to the amazing motivation coming from the newies...I think you seldom see newies so eagerly awating for a conference...I think you seldom see newies going off the train and running in the direction of the check-in...I think you seldom see so many newies taking up responsibilities in the simulation...To all of the newies of Kick-Off which are now teamees : thank you very much for what you did and for what you will do and achieve during the next years...

Thirdly, I would like to thank my EB which did an amazing job and helped me to drive the LC to many successes. But also all the leader, the last EB and all the teamees, goldies...You're definetly a part of the success of our LC...

Last but not the least, thank you to the MC for the great agenda you've made and for your involvement in the initiatives...Thank you to the OC for the amazing planning and organization of the conference...

Thanks to all these people, AIESEC Lausanne was enabled to win the award of the Best Delegation at Do-It !!

We are very proud and conscious of what itmeans. We will do our best to keep LC Lausanne in the right direction for the next years...

1st Leader Meeting

Tuesday, it was the first time we met all (except Diana) PBoX managers from the beginning of the semester. They were asked to brief us on the job that had been done, their first(s) meeting(s) with their team as well as to designed a rough timeline for their project. It was a good opportunity for us to see where they stood and to brainstorm altogether to find answers to their questions or ways to solve their issues. For now on, we will meet around once every 2 weeks. Each of the VP and P is reponsible aka coach for a PBoX in order to share the job and to enhance efficiency. Definitely a useful meeting, and the EB is wishing the best to all its Project Mangers. You will all rock the house and it is up to you teamies to help your PM to reach the objectives you have defined together.

Selling Training October 07

3 Facis, around 30 participants, a learning process divided in 3 parts, more than 3 hours (actually 4h, but it was to keep the 3-series) of training and finally only 1 break. On Friday 26th, we have had the selling training for the french part of Switzerland (actually we did not see many people from Geneva except Bilal;-). I reckon it was a successful training for everyone (at least I hope). After a rather thorough introduction of selling in and outside AIESEC and a deep insight of the TN taker flow, participants were able to test and practice the theoretical knowledge they had just learn with role plays. Preparation of an elevator speech, practicing it and eventually, going to the meeting to raise a TN. This was a good start into the new TN raising period for both ER teams and PBoXes and we keep our finger cross that it will pay soon because everyone has been working hard, as you can see:

Insight XP Night

Who on Earth or should I say which Aiesecer on Earth has never thought Insight XP certification was the most horrible thing in his life and that he would be so delighted to kill Ernie (or whatever this f.....mascot is called) with a spoon. So here, in Lausanne, as having members taking XP certif was part of the Xchange TF output (I know, I was there), we decided to organise a Insight XP night. At first sight, it sounds anything but attractive. Nevertheless, when you add a little bit of free food, some drinks, some music and a bunch of funny people, it can become less a pain in the ass. So below are proofs that such a night can be delightful...or at least not that horrible.

Coaching days

This week, our dear lovely coach Anna (erobic) has visited us for coaching. She has first met with Christophe, before having a personal meeting with the other EB and finally a common coaching session for the OCPs (or PMs). The entire EB has appreciated the way she ran the meeting. It was much less functional and theoretical and much more discussion based than the coaching visit we had at the beginning of our term. A lot of deep discussion about AIESEC roots, the exchange program, the Career Days and the internal issues we are currently facing. Thank you Anna for your visit, it was very much enjoyable;-)

Don't worry. Some parts were more exhausting for Chris...;-)

Selling Training

Notwithstanding the fact that most of Lausanne members had classes until 3pm, the selling training will take place this:

Friday October 26th, from 3.15pm until 7.15pm @ Amphimax 415.

You will find the building on the map below. If you come by car, let me know before wednesday midnight and I'll try to get some free tickets. If you come by train from Geneva, get out of the train in Renens and take the M1 (tsol=metro), from there to Sorges. If you arrive from Fribourg, get out at Lausanne central, step up the city to Flon and take the M1 to Sorges as well. Room 415 is the second floor on top of the cafeteria. If you have any questions concerning how you can get there, just let me know, either by email loic.aubonney(at)la.aiesec.ch or mobile.

Induction night

After the successful recruitment process, and the discovery-full "Soirée de rencontre", time had come to induce new members to the beautiful world of AIESEC. For most of us, LCM, VPTM or even MCVPER make sense, but for newies, it sounds like another language. Therefore, in order to be fully prepared for DO-IT, we have organized the induction night last tuesday. Actually, we (meaning the EB) have only supervised both preparation and running of the session. In fact, we delegated our responsibility to some old (older..) members. Hence, a group of facilitators, namely (in gentleman alphabetical order and not contribution), Anne-Ju, Jennifer, Marianne, Saralina, Vanessa, Colm, John, Steve and Toufic (hope I haven't forgotten anyone) have organised group games and quizzes to introduce newies to AIESEC. Participation rates have been important, which is entirely delightful for us.

Everyone seems very interested in what Saralina is saying (has it ever happened before;-) ?)

Few months ago, we proudly announced the discovery of a new OCP Career Days. Months have passed and the situation has not improved. The last responsible had a lot of work to deal with and therefore resigned from his position. As our Career Days will (as usual) be the first one, 4th to 6th of March, we had to take a rapid decision...Not always simple....Lacking candidates and time, we decided to choose someone you might have seen one day or another, maybe in a different suit or costume;-)

The EB is wishing him all the best....at least I am.

Recruitment Time

Here we go...Few more efforts and we're done...After long hours of work, the autumn recruitment period is close to an end. Here is a little summary of what happened.

Monday 17th of September, Uni in Lausanne has not started yet thanks to religion that once again offered us a public holiday (Jeûne Fédéral). So we had time to meet the motivated members who were already here and to share about the summer. In addition, cause we had to work a little bit, we started our poster campaign and post more than 200 of them in the University..You know these nice posters with smiling faces (actually half-smiling faces, or rather smiling half-faces).

Then, after Uni had been spammed by our brand new fancy posters, we had the first LCM of the semester in our office where we managed to cook pasta with tomato sauce as well (a great cook....was me...Does anyone want to marry me?? Sorry, no pictures or sample to test this affirmation).

From the 24th to 27th, it was probably the busiest AIESEC week EVER...In only 4 days, we distributed flyers when people were arriving at uni in the morning (thanks again to those who get up very early to be there), had shouts in more than 20 classes or lectures, which scared the most timid of us when they had to speak in front of about 300 students. And last but not the least, we had three Info Evening, two at uni and one at EPFL, where we had in total around 65 people. Busy busy week ended (as usual...) with a little (did I say little) party to celebrate the first success.

Until this tuesday midnight (2nd of October), applications were opened. Around 50 students applied and we are currently interviewing all of them to eventually select 20 or so. We are lucky enough that we can be tough at selecting people (some enjoy it...not me).

Overall and despite the fact that it has not ended yet, we are very happy with our recruitment and hope that everyone has met the same success.

EB Days

To plan the semester to come, have a common understanding of the strategy we wanted to implement in our LC, the whole EB has met for 3 days. We sadly need to annouce you that our EB only counts 4 members since this summer. Unfortunately, for personal reasons, Swan has to withdraw and the current EB will share the amount of work amongst itself.

For 3 days, we have been able to review the road map, plan the recruitment procedure, update the blog and the website as well as discuss the Career Days with our dear OCP.

LCLA at Paléo Festival

Responding to a rather kind invitation from the BCV (thanks to Nicolas Rosset), 5 members of AIESEC Lausanne (as well as me because I had a weekly ticket;-) ) have had the chance to attend Paleo as special guest. Wonderful opening night of a wonderful festival, tuesday 23rd of July has been a great evening with bands as famous as Muse or Arctic Monkeys. Unfortunately, it was raining down but at the same time, it brought a warm atmosphere. During one week, @ers (e.g Luca :-) ) have poped up at the festival to attend some of the numerous concerts and to party alnight long til the morning. For schizel....

Cleaning up the office

The office was seriously messy and it was hard to enter the office without smelling the cheese that had been store for 3 weeks in the fridge for the global village. So some members plucked up courage to clean it. For 3 entire days (or quite) they have sweat their guts out to get the cellar as well as the office spotless. June has been as dead as a cemetery in terms of LC work and activities. Indeed, exams have been the focus for everyone, included the EB and except a couple of meetings, not much has been done.

Birthday parties

From June onwards, @Lausanne has been celebrating a couple of birthday parties. Some wilder than others, but all of them unforgettable, full of laughing, dancing and sparkling eyes and smiles.

At the beginning of June (the 10th, so you know for next year), while finishing up the last projects and revising for exams, Saffia had her birthday. We all went to a Mexican bar for Sangria and succulent cakes.

Most of us went then dancing and the less that can be said is that we kinda lost track of how many shakers we drank...

Then, as a celebration of exams, came Christophe birthday. A lot of @ers as well as classmate joined the party at "Les Brasseurs" where we manage to fit 42 of us on one floor. Aftre eating, we went to the Festival de la Cité, where a free raggae concert was going on. To conclude the night, we felt we had to go dancing in a club, which we did..

Global village and the global night

Here we are....
After 2 long months of inactivity, AIESEC Lausanne's blog is waking up smoothly. We nevertheless need to catch up on a long list of events that have happened since then. After Kick-off, we have had what has been one of the most successful global village. More than 30 stands with plenty of different food and drinks (;-p) to satisfy the 500 people who were visiting the village during lunch break.

Supported by the city of Lausanne and Loterie Romande, we were able to partly sponsor the stands which increased their offer to visitors. Nevertheless, there is never enough to feed a small army of starving students...To avoid dehydratation of visitors due to the scorching heat, a watering crew has even been recruited: AIESEC Lausanne is proud to present you, sergent Aubonney and colonel Bieronski.

We have also had a prize competition for the best stand. Loads of them where of very high quality, providing visitors with outstanding quality food and try-not-to-be-disgusted-when-you-swallow-me alcohol. The winners were the tunisian stand, or should I say tent..

To put the icing on the cake, the day was ended by a party, the "global night" at Atelier Volant in Lausanne. A rather important delegation of Geneva had joined the party, where an @ spirit was reigning. Til early in the morning, we were all shaking our booty for the sake of it... Check by yourself.

HELLO EVERYBODY!!!

Election time is comming...

During the week of the 29th of January, AIESEC Lausanne will elect its new Executive Board 07-08. The official begining date for the EB term is the 1st of April. Don't be scared, you have two full months to learn what the job is all about... That's why elections take place during January!

Now, if you're interested in a EB position, please contact the EB responsible person, so that you can ask him (her) some questions about the function and role he (she) plays in the LC...

With the new structure, the EB 07-08 will be more focused on strategy... You should not work in the office every day like we were... We had to implement a lot of new strategy, concepts... This should not happen next term: lucky you are... ;-)

For the application form, it's quiet long, but it will also help you to understand the challenges, which the LC has... That's why we encourage you to ask questions to the responsible VP (or LCP)... He (she) will not help you to fill in the application, but you'll have a better understanding of the LCs situation.

You are also all welcome to ask question to me for all the questions you could have...

Please, be aware that this year, the EB will only have five positions: LCP, VPPD, VPER, VPF and VPX... The VP Career Days will now be an OCP Career Days and elected an other time during the term...

Then, for all the people that are going on internship, here is the preparation seminar. Also for the returnees... Applications are open till the 10th of January.

PrepInSeminars
Bringing together all members of AIESEC in Switzerland who have recently been on an internship and all members preparing for a live changing experience abroad, the Returnee Integration Seminar and the Exchange Preparation Seminar are a unique opportunity for members to share experiences and thoughts and to work on their personal development.
The PrepInSeminars take place on the weekend of the 20th and the 21st of January in Schönengrund, close to St.Gallen. The tracks are run parallel, with various commune sessions, allowing for valuable interactions.

The quality of the workshops is assured by high level externals. A special highlight on Saturday is the one day workshop “The Brand Called Me” delivered by Step2Biz in which delegates learn how to better promote their skills and experiences. It helps you to define your preferences and your expectations towards the professional world and to better sell your profile. Whilst being part of the reintegration seminar, this popular workshop is also open to all members of AIESEC in Switzerland who have missed it on a national conference, especially to Goldies!

We Grow

“An international conference is a unique, challenging and unforgettable experience.” When my plane took off from Geneva I have to admit that I didn’t quite believe it.

When my plane took off from Geneva I didn’t expect that much from We Grow. I knew that it would be a fun week but I didn’t really believe I would get a lot out of it afterwards. Everybody says that such a conference is “inspiring” and “challenging”, nice words, but they didn’t ring my bell regarding an AIESEC conference. Truth is I was wrong.

If there was one thing that I would remember of these 5 days it would be the people. Because in any kind of conference, lecture, party, or discussion, the people who attend it are the roots of its success or failure. In Albufeira I met smart, creative, open minded and culturally diverse people.

Some of those people were running sessions witch really challenged me as far as everyone had diverse and some time diverging arguments but everyone accepted ideas coming from the others (special thanks to Floor and Sara). Some other people were delegates who were capable to work and reflect as a group, even if they are all leaders. The creativity of those people really struck me when we were able in 10 minutes to find 10 new shouts for WENA. If those people can reach such results, even if they are not so relevant, would you trust them to make decisions that will have impact on their LC? I would. But most of all would trust them to make decisions witch impact will be way broader, for a company, an NGO, or even a country? I definitely would. My biggest hope is that those people will continue to lead after their stay within AIESEC, and most of all will be faithful to the values they had in this conference.

So I would like to thank every and each person who attended this amazing conference because you guys are inspiring and are the people I want to see tomorrow in the MC’s, the companies and the governments.

As you might all know, a new intern from Moldova arrived on saturday evening! Her name is Olga, and you're welcome to visit her to the Mont-d'or flat (Av. de Mont-d'or 50, 1007 Lausanne) or give her a call : 021 601 06 10. Her email is the following : biddeako@yahoo.com. She will be working in Golay Buchel & Cie SA, in Lausanne, for more than 3 months.

With a new really motivated Xchange team, we made the warmest welcome that a trainee ever had in Lausanne :). 8 crazy @ers were waiting for her at Lausanne train station! As a suprise, we prepared her a really nice welcome package, with lot of typical swiss products as well as many useful documents to get to know Lausanne and the region!

After such an overwhelming welcome, and after settling her in her flat, we went to the city center for showing her around.

On the behalf of LCLA, I'm proud to announce that last friday was the welcome evening for newies. After a successful recruitment, more than 48 applications filled and finally we're glad to welcome our 39 new members :).

Our first surprise was to see so many new faces in our office, which was for the occasion a bit too small! Mr. President was holding his first motivational speech in front of so many curious eyes.

After splitting up in teams, newies had the chance to challenge their skills with a funny teambuilding game.

Altough not everyone managed to "save the egg", a lot of energy, motivation and team spirit came out of each group.

We ended the evening by moving later on in a pub in the center of Lausanne to celebrate and have a drink in order to get to know our great newies :)

We're all looking forward to bringing all that motivation to DO-IT !

Dear LCLA fans,

Once again your EB has been really active today ! After 2 days of hard work (see previous post), we barely had time to catch up with sleeping, but we went back to work ! This time, we discovered another unknown territory somewhere between Lausanne and MC office, that is only a small point on the map :), a lovely place called Fribourg !

Our lovely LC coach, miss Aïda ! :) Origin : from a far unknown territory, but surprisingly speaking the same language :) Right now, learning a weird language, called swiss german :)

EB weekend in the mountains

Hey LCLA !!!

You might wonder what your beloved EB has been doing during the last 2 days. Then, you will get an answer ! Your lovely EB has moved far to an unknown territory... on the other side of the lake !!! Actually, we have been to France for a "weekend" of planning, discussion and settling the bases for the future of our LC !

First of all, we made a stop in Evian, where we catched our last EB member missing, Saralina, coming straight from Lausanne after her last exam :). We enjoyed the sunny weather and the lovely view on Lausanne :)

Finally, after a trip in the mountains, we reached our meeting place... We stayed for 2 days in the house of Maxime's parents in a small small village called "Terramont" in "la Vallée Verte". Actually, you won't notice it, but there is more cows than inhabitants :).

After many hours of work, many discussions but nevertheless enjoying our tasks, we spend a great weekend out of our office, taking part of the future of our LC ! We planned most of the recrutment, so everything should be running smoothly ! We made a assessment of LCLA, what we done till now and what should be done in the rest of our terms. Dear LCLA,

That's been a long time since I got any news from most of you. To be honest, during this summer, the LC activity dropped quite a lot. Anyway, now every one is back with I guess for any of you wonderful stories to tell us about your summer time.

That's why I would like to invite all of you, on behalf of LC Geneva, to an AIESEC party next friday, which means on the 22nd, starting from 8pm. The party will be going on in Geneva, rue de la Coulouvrenière 16. For me information, please go to http://www.aiesecgeneva.blogspot.com/.

New trainee in town !!!

Dear LCLA,

I'm proud to announce you that today, 8th of July, a new trainee is arriving in Lausanne :)
His name is Sebastian Ardila, he has been travelling a long way overseas to finally land in our beautiful city of Lausanne. Sebastian is native from Colombia, and was involved in AIESEC Manizales. He will be working here for a year in Liquorum Sàrl located in Vevey. He will be staying in Av. du Mont-d'or 50, 1007 Lausanne, so feel free to visit him and get to know colombian culture ! I really hope that everyone of you will give him a warm welcome in Switzerland !!! Some of you may already know him as he was in Switzerland last year.

I'm sorry that I cannot upload you a picture of him right now, but it will come soon. Talking about this, better than a picture, you will have a chance to meet him !!! That's why, I would like to invit all of you to the welcome party of Sebastian, sunday evening, 7.30pm in the "Docks" where we will be enjoying the final of the world cup. I hope that many of you will get the chance to come and greet him as well as getting to know him and giving him a snapshot of how Swiss are friendly ;). Later, we might move to a club, where we will give him a last insight of Swiss way of partying. Girls, this is the time to learn how to dance colombian salsa with him :).

Election Time in Lausanne

Hi everybody...

I know my English is shitty, but we have to change some bad habits, like always doing things in French. So, here I try... But please, read carefully, because it's VERY IMPORTANT!!!

On Thursday evening (the 15th of June 2006), we will have a LCM and some Elections. Because of that, your presence is needed. We received 2 application forms for the VP ER and I'm honored to introduce the two applicant to you:

- Ali Azam
- Saralina Habegger

You can find their application on the wall in the office, so you can make yourself a better idea of those two crazy people...

The LCM will begin on 1800 sharp in room 126, so please come if possible in advance. Here a plan of what will happen during this exciting evening:

- After Global Village presentation
- Teams updates
- Elections
- Finances in the LC
- Closing the not at all a plenary!!!

After that, to prepare our exams and holidays, we will meet us a last time all together on the beautiful Lozane-Beach for eating good sausages on the grill... We provide Grills and refreashments, but please, take your own meat with you. Our fridge will care of it during the day...

Quelques news de votre EB préféré, le seul, l'unique, le vrai

Tout d'abord, nous pouvons déjà vous dire qu'il y aura des élections Jeudi 15 Juin au prochain LCM (à l'internef salle 126!!! Heure à préciser, mais vers 18h00... Soyez à l'heure et votre présence sera obligatoire). Les applications seront affichées Mardi soir au bureau pour que vous puissiez vous faire une idée pour qui voter...

Ensuite, nous irons faire des grillades au bord du lac... Alors pensez à prendre votre steack ou merguez avec au LCM. Nous fournissons les boissons non-alcoolisée et les chips...

Passez au bureau, nous avons des nouveaux ordinateurs!!! Ils sont à votre disposition... Les écrans sont déjà en place et le team informatique reflechit déjà aux modifications à faire à notre réseau avant d'installer les ordis...

Autrement, le frigo s'est rempli de boissons fruitées et colagèiniques... Fanta, Coke and Coke light ainsi que TeaFroid ont été payés grâce à la crousille... le système marche, alors continuons le!!!

J'espère vous voir tous et toutes au LCM ainsi qu'au bureau, histoire de pas trop penser aux examens...

Une bonne nouvelle ne vient jamais seule...

Bonjour à tous!

Les examens arrivent bientôt, mais le LC Lausanne à plein de bonnes nouvelles pour vous!

Premièrement, et pas des moindres, l'un de vous a déjà décroché 2 meetings dans sa session de Job Raising!!! Félicitations à Oliver pour cette réussite! Et j'espère que le team transformera les meetings en place de stage! Je suis sûr que votre team va cartonner cette année!

Deuxièmement, suite à la volonté de certains d'entre vous à rentrer dans le EB, nous avons ouvert une application avec le soutien de notre cher MC pour un poste de VP ER!!! Pas de soucis, la transition se fera en douceur, alors ne craignez pas les examens et appliquez nombreux! L'application se trouve ici: Application... Il faudra juste vous loguer sur aiesec.net et le sésame aux milles merveilles est à vous. Deadline: Lundi 12.06.06 à 23h59... Les questions sont en anglais, mais vous ne devez pas forcément faire une dissertation. Bonne chance...

Bien sur, les applications de Team Leader sont toujours ouvertes.... Elles se trouvent aussi sur la même page de notre communauté... Vous avez tous vos chances... ;-) Alors tentez l'expérience. Même à l'essai...

Suite à cela, une troisième bonne nouvelle: afin de préparer nos vacances et surtout, afin d'élire notre VP ER si celui-ci (ou celle-ci) applique, nous allons avoir un LCM Jeudi 15 Juin 06 qui sera obligatoire en cas d'élection. Si vous ne pouvez pas venir, il faudra nous avertir afin que nous puissions prévoir les votes par "correspondance", alors réservez cette date. Une présence des 2/3 des membres est requise pour valider l'élection! Mais plus d'infos vous parviendrons à ce sujet la semaine prochaine.

Enfin, last but not least, préparez vous le même soir du LCM, donc Jeudi, à manger les grillades du siècles au bord du lac, afin de fêter la fin des cours et fêter notre nouveau VP (ci celui-ci (ou celle-ci) applique, je le rappelle ;-) et qu'il (elle) est élu(e) bien évidemment)...

Enfin, bad news, je rappelle que ceux qui sont allés à Kick-Off ont reçu un bulletin de versement pour s'aquitter des 40.- que nous prélevions à titre de participation. Ceux qui ne l'ont pas reçu, ou qui n'ont pas encore payé, merci de prendre contact avec Stefano... MERCI d'avance.

Je profite encore de l'occasion qui m'est offerte afin de rappeler que Florence organise un training ICX ce jeudi 8 Juin à 12h15. Si vous êtes intéressés, n'oubliez pas de lui envoyer avant mercredi midi un mail pour vous annoncer: ici, mail de Florence...

Training le 8 juin 2006 : une opportunité d'en apprendre plus !!!

Cher LCLA,

Je tiens à vous inviter le jeudi 8 juin 2006 pour un training dont le thème sera "matching" et séléction de stagiaires. Ce training vous fera découvrir le monde de l'échange, plus précisement l'incoming eXchange (arrivé de stagiaires).

Le training se déroulera normalement au bureau AIESEC, le jeudi 8 à partir de 12h.
Voici un petit agenda de ce qui sera traité :

1- présentation du cycle ICX

2- rapide présentation de Insight XP

3- focus sur recherche de stagiaires et sélection

4- simulation

5- questions-réponses

La session vous sera délivrée par Florence (ex-LCP et ex-VP ICX). Je conseille à tout le monde du LC Lausanne d'assister à ce training, pour en apprendre plus sur le processus de séléction de stagiaires mais aussi avoir plus de connaissances sur ce domaine. Pour l'équipe eXchange, c'est-à-dire, Joana, Marta, Daniel, Aline et Gwendoline, ce training est obligatoire. Pour le reste du LC, je vous encourage vivement à vous joindre à nous, cela pourras vous être utile pour la suite.

Pakistan night in Geneva

c'est avec le plus grand plaisir que LC Genève vous invite à sa soirée culturelle pakistanaise!!!

Elle aura lieu jeudi le 8 juin à 18h30 ici à Genève, près de l'Uni.

Qu'est-ce qui vous attend? Il y aura une partie officielle avec une présentation sur le Pakistan et puis il y aura la partie inofficielle, l'occasion de manger à la pakistanaise, boire, danser, parler, ...

On me demande de plus en plus souvent quand on va enfin faire quelque chose avec LC ausanne (c'est vrai en plus!). Il n'y a aucune raison de tarder à renforcer la collaboration Lausanne - Genève!

Trainee event in Bern

Hello tout le monde,

Vu l'approche des examens, les heures passées à la biblio à réviser, je vous propose une petite sortie très sympa le 3 juin 2006.

Cette sortie organisée conjointement avec LC Berne, est en fait un trainee event (qui a pour but de rassembler les stagiaires ici en Suisse) et bien sûr permettre aux membres des comités @ de les rencontrer.

A propos de cette manifestation, elle se déroulera le samedi 3 juin 2006, le rendez-vous étant donné à la gare de Berne à 12h00.

J'invite donc tous les membres du LCLA à se joindre à la manifestation. Sur une journée vous aurez l'occasion de faire la descente en rafting de l'Aare, et le soir de faire une grill party avec les stagiaires et les AIESEcers de Berne.

Egalement, j'aurais besoin de savoir au plus vite les personnes intéressées à venir pour pouvoir procéder aux réservations. Il vaut mieux que vous sachiez nager, bien que je ne pense pas qu'il y ait beaucoup de remous dans la rivière.
De plus, si vous avez (même si vous ne venez pas) des gilets de sauvetage, des palmes ou des chaussures de plage, je vous serais reconnaissant de nous les prêter, car les prix à la location sont assez chers.

Vous l'attendiez et voici qu'il arrive à grands pas: le LCM souvenir de Kick-Off et Global Village est prévu pour le 18 Mai vers 1800 ou 1900. Bonjour tout le monde...

Tout d'abord pour les newies, il semblerait que vous ne pouvez pas vous inscrire pour le teamee day, vu que vous n'avez pas la communauté Suisse sur votre compte aiesec.net...

Donc une fois que vous vous connectez sur www.aiesec.net, vous allez dans communauté et vous cherchez la communauté nommée "Switzerland" et vous cliquez sur "join" à droite...

Ensuite, vous allez sous "My AIESEC" et cliquez sur "Switzerland" dans vos communautés et vous remplissez l'application du teamee day dès que vous tombez sur la page suisse... Merci de choisir Lausanne pour votre teamee day, car chez nous, c'est gratuit!

Vous aurez rendez-vous à 1000 et cela se termine vers 1800, avec une bonne pause à midi. Il est très important que vous y alliez, car vous apprendrez tout sur vos fonctions respectives (ER, PD, ICX, OGX)

Sinon, nous vous proposons dès à présent des postes de TeamLeader en External Relation et en Echange. Il suffit pour cela de remplir l'application se trouvant sur la communauté de HEC Lausanne. Vous avez jusqu'au samedi 20 Mai 23:59 pour réfléchir à ces opportunités uniques et rendre votre application.

Des postes de responsables Informatique, Juridique, Rapport annuel et BSV (passez vers moi si vous voulez savoir ce que c'est) sont aussi au concours sur la même application. Le EB étudiera vos applications et décidera à qui seront confiés les postes dès la décision prise.

Nous vous donnerons plus d'information lors du LCM qui se déroulera probablement Jeudi 18.05.06, suite à la demande de le déplacer à ce jour, mais vous pouvez aussi nous demander de quoi il s'agit avant. Attention, une activité est prévue pour la suite du LCM, donc réservez votre soirée!!!

After Kick-Off...

A tous, un grand merci pour cette incroyable conférence!!!

Je n'ai malheureusement pas pu être toujours aussi présent que je l'aurais désiré, mais une chose est certaine, c'est que le LC Lausanne a une excellente image auprès des autres comités, des facis, du MC (Member Commitee) et du OC (Organizing Commitee). Et les danois nous ont adoré!!!

J'ai reçu d'excellents feedbacks de quantité de gens, sur votre attitude hyper positive, sur votre participation durant les sessions, sur nos prestations géniales sur scène (notre challenge danois à été leur préféré et le closing plenary a eu un succès incroyable...) Gardez cette image en tête pour les prochaines éditions, on a désormais une réputation à maintenir intacte!!!

Merci encore pour tout le travail effectué, merci au support du EB avec qui il est tellement cool de travailler, merci aux GOldies et teamees d'avoir si bien encadré les newies, merci pour la surprise du "award night part II" qui m'a beaucoup touché (ce fût une belle surprise... Et c'est un plaisir d'être à la tête d'une délégation aussi géniale, même si cela représente une quantité de travail assez conséquente... :-) ), et merci pour les mois qui vont venir, car l'aventure ne fait que de débuter.

Pour les quelques informations que je dois malgré tout vous transmettre:

pas de LCM cette semaine... Mais une super soirée dans une semaine, avec activité à la prime.
n'oubliez pas de vous inscrire pour la journée du 19 mai à Lausanne avant le 12 mai et ce, sur la comunauté suisse (clique ici et logue toi...). Vous devez aussi savoir dans quel domaine vous aimeriez travailler, donc faites en part à Rémi avant votre inscription (Exchange, External Relation et People Development)

Hé oui, Kick-Off se rapproche de plus en plus...
Afin d'avoir une certaine cohésion entre les membres avant cet événement, vous êtes tous conviés au LCM de préparation à Kick-Off - Last Minute, ce mardi 2 mai 06 à 1730, lieu à confirmer (mais certainement salle 307, comme la dernière fois).

Au programme:

1730-1750: Planning de la conférence (en gros) et état d'esprit sur place
1750-1800: Qu'est-ce que le danish challenge?
1800-1805: SRB après Kick-Off
1805-1820: Présentation par groupe des shouts / roll call préparés
1820-1855: Préparation roll call
1855-1900: Mot de la fin et dernières recommandations

Je sais que pour certains d'entre vous, cela est contraignant, mais nous devons absolument nous préparer pour Kick-Off pour que notre délégation soit la meilleure!!!

1800-1815: Teambuilding
1815-1830: Kick-Off Officiel
1830-1845: Kick-Off Officieux + Info application + Infos soirées
1845-1900: Pause
1900-1930: Global Village présentation par Sofia
1930-2000: Préparation aux Roll Calls --> Task Force pour prochain LCM (2 Mai 06)
2000-????: En ville pour (ceux qui veulent) --> Boire un jus

Pour rappel, les LCM sont obligatoires et ça nous feras super plaisir de vous voir...
